Ellenborough TTC - 75th Anniversary Reunion

75th Anniversary Celebration and Re-union.

The 75th Anniversary Reunion took place on Sunday 23rd October 2011 at the Clubhouse in Kimberley Gardens.

The event was attended by over 100 past and present members with a VIP list which included Cllr. Christiana During (Mayor of Enfield), Lord Davies of Oldham (Patron), Nick De Bois (MP Enfield North), Alex Murdoch (ETTA Chairman), and Michael Close (MTTA Chairman).

Speeches were made by Nick De Bois, Lord Davies, Christiana During and Richard Yule.

There was a presentation to Tom Chapman now aged 97 and a founder member of the club in 1936 of a framed photograph of him with his then Fiancé, Joan, by the Mayor. Denise Payet our talented 10 year old star presented the Mayor with a bouquet of flowers. Michael Close presented a decanter to Alan Shepherd for over 50 years voluntary service to table tennis in London, and Alex Murdoch presented ETTA pendants and ties to David Hope, Sylvia Tyler and Harold Webb for their services to table tennis.

Thanks go out to Eileen Corbitt & Anthea Sandley who made our guests welcome and handed out their name badges and brochures and asked them to sign the Anniversary book, and to Fred Mustapha for providing a superb buffet.
