Eight teams took part in the first of four sessions
in the National Cadet League at Ellenborough. There were four Ellenborough
teams and four from London Progress. Teams were put into two divisions,
two from each club in each division.
Each team competed against all of the other teams in
their division and there were some really competitive matches, even though
some of the overall scores do not reflect this.
In division 1, London Progress 1 dominated
proceedings only dropping 1 match throughout the day. Ellenborough 1
finished second and Ellenborough Girls are in third position. Tony Alvarez
and Raffael Marom both finishing on 100% having played and won all 6 of
their matches. Top Ellenborough player was Craig Thompson, also on 100%
with 4 wins out of 4. Top Girl was Megan Sparrey with 4 wins out of 6.
Division
2 was a much closer affair, Ellenborough 2 just pipping Ellenborough 3 by
one point. When they played each other it was an honourable 3 – 3 draw.
Top player from division 2 was, however, from neither of these, Gavin
Naughty from London Progress 3 finishing on 100% with 6 wins. Top
Ellenborough player was Leonard D’Crus also on 100% with 4 wins out of
4.
