From the Chair – Getting Even Closer
The Committee has decided to call a Special General Meeting on Thursday, 16 February, to approve or otherwise the Club’s extension proposals.  

We anticipate an offer from Sport England by the 13/14 February covering most of the cost of this work. The Club will be contributing the majority of our reserve funds.

On receipt of the offer the Club has 7 days to accept and it is for this reason we must have the members’ decision, either with offer on the table, or to agree acceptance in principle.  

These are very exciting times and I urge you to make every effort to attend so that you will be aware of what is planned.  

Some members have expressed concern regarding the loss of facilities during the rebuilding. We are to provide alternative venues but hiring costs are extremely expensive and will determine what we are able to do.  

I am sure the majority will agree that losing some practice opportunities in the summer is a small price to pay for the end result.  

I expect the club to rally round and support the Committee as it’s always done in the past.

TWO MEETINGS  

A)        A Special General Meeting of Ellenborough Table Tennis Club will be held on Thursday, 16 February 2006 at 7.45 pm at the Club House, Kimberley Gardens , Enfield .  

B)        This meeting is called under the provision of the club rule No 25, “Special General Meeting” where the business to be transacted will relate to the proposed acceptance of the offer from Sport England to provide the club with funds from the “Community Club Development Programme” to refurbish the premises, and to appoint the selected contractors who will carry out the work.

AGENDA  

1.         Informal Meeting – starts at 7.45 pm.  

2.         General Information from the Committee and update of latest situation.

  FORMAL MEETING UNDER RULE No 25.                       

3.         Adoption or otherwise by the club of  (B) above. Resumption of Informal Meeting.
