Coronavirus/Club Re-opening newsletter
As you may know, we are hoping that the Government may allow us to open our club on a strictly controlled basis from the 4th July 2020 but this will depend on the Covid-19 situation at the time and also on our ability to comply with all social distancing and other regulations for the safety of our members.
- An Ellenborough Coronavirus Sub-Committee was formed when the club closed and it has been working hard to prepare for the day when we can re-open. The Sub-Committee comprises Keith Williams, Joan and Peter Bayman, Sandy Nash, Gordon Izatt and Ron Smith. More details of the new procedures, opening times, booking system, etc. will be released as soon as they are finalised and a re-opening date is known.
- We will shortly be contacting all our members to ask their permission to share their chosen contact information with other members (by means of a contact list), partly to help them to arrange and book practice sessions when the time comes.
- Committee Member Alan Pearse volunteered to redecorate the lounge and kitchen areas of the club, as well as some spot repainting in the playing hall and has done an excellent job.
- Our Treasurer, Harold Webb, has been dealing with Enfield Council and others to help minimise the financial impact of the closure.
- Almost all tables and chairs have been removed from the lounge and the playing hall has also been prepared, all to comply with hygiene and social distancing requirements and a one-way entrance and exit system.
- The Sub-Committee are also busy looking into improving hand-washing and sanitising procedures and various other items that require attention in order for us to re-open as safely as possible.
We will try to keep everyone informed as the situation progresses and we look forward to welcoming all our members back to the Club at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, keep fit and stay safe.
